On Saturday 06 June, the Gin Tin had its first public outing at a mini-festival in the Staffordshire countryside.
The event is organised by a friend of Chloe's brother and the laid-back family setting was ideal for our debut; we could test the logistics of serving from a horsebox, and it helped us to identify those finishing touches that will really make the Gin Tin sing.
As the only bar on site, we stepped outside of the Gin speciality and served a range of drinks: as well as Gin & Tonics (of course) we had Pimms, bottles of beer and cider, and casks of local real ale and traditional cider. We were pleased to see that the G&T was our most popular drink, although as the evening grew cool the red wine and Jack Daniels also became increasingly popular.
We had a really positive response from everyone at the festival, with lots of great feedback about how beautiful and unusual the Gin Tin is. A big thank you to all who supported us, and especially to Tom and James, who both worked for free!
